Robert De Clark

General Manager

I’ve spent 27 years in the mental health and addiction field, and I’m grateful to bring that experience to Resilient Health. What drew me here is the chance to combine a community-focused mission with a dynamic, forward-thinking team. Earlier in my career, I helped start and grow three inpatient treatment centres, and I’m motivated by the opportunity to use that background to support a talented, mission-driven group in reaching more people who need care. At this stage, I’m focused on making a deeper, lasting impact in the community—work that aligns closely with our clinic’s purpose.

My path has been shaped by both clinical and leadership roles. I spent 14 years providing direct counselling, which gave me a deep understanding of client needs and the therapeutic process. I also co-founded and built treatment programmes, gaining hands-on experience in program development, team building, operations, strategy, and marketing. That blend of clinical insight and business acumen helps me bridge frontline care with sustainable growth. I’m passionate about building strong, values-driven teams and creating environments where clients and staff can thrive.

I believe in honesty, fairness, and collaboration. These values guide how I lead, make decisions, and support the organization. Not every decision is easy, but when we apply a fair, honest, and collaborative approach, both the organization and the people within it grow.

The work comes with challenges, and I try to remember that every challenge is significant to the person experiencing it. Keeping that perspective makes it easier to respond with empathy and clarity.

Outside of work, most of my time is spent with my five kids. Hockey is a big passion, and I coach my 10-year-old son’s team, which keeps me grounded and energized.

The most rewarding part of my role is seeing change—watching organizations strengthen, clients make progress, and staff develop into confident leaders. Many colleagues I’ve worked with now lead programmes themselves, and being part of that ripple effect is something I’m proud of.

I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work from Carleton University. That education, combined with years of practical experience, shapes my day-to-day approach: be client-centred, support the team, and build systems that last.

If there’s one message I hope readers take away, it’s that I’m here to support a compassionate, high-quality service—one that treats people with respect and focuses on what helps them move forward.
