Why Choose Group Therapy?
Group therapy offers benefits that individual counselling cannot always provide. By participating in a group, you’ll have the opportunity to:
- Find Connection: You’re not alone in your struggles. Hearing others’ stories and sharing your own can build a sense of belonging and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Learn from Others: Group members can offer fresh perspectives, shared wisdom, and strategies that have worked for them. This collective approach often leads to new insights.
- Build Skills Together: Whether it’s improving communication, working through emotions, or managing difficult situations, learning alongside a group fosters growth and accountability.
- Receive Support in a Safe Space: Group therapy is facilitated by experienced therapists who guide discussions, ensure confidentiality, and create an environment of respect and trust.
About Our Victoria, BC Group Programs
At Resilient Health, our group therapy programs focus on creating meaningful connections while addressing specific challenges. Here’s how each program can help:
- ADHD and Executive Dysfunction Treatment: Learn why attention problems happen, build practical systems for focus, organization, and motivation, and turn them into habits. Neurodiversity‑affirming, evidence‑based, and great for those not using medication. No diagnosis needed.
- Launchpad Therapy for Young Men: If you feel stuck or unsure where you’re headed, this group helps men aged 18–30 build clarity, confidence, and momentum. Expect practical goals, skills training, and support to tackle anxiety, low mood, self‑esteem, and motivation.
- Cognitive Processing Therapy for PTSD: Living with PTSD can feel isolating, but you don’t have to face it alone. This program helps participants process trauma in a structured and supportive group setting, combining evidence-based techniques with shared experiences.
- Addiction Recovery Therapy: Recovery is a journey best travelled with support. This group provides a space to share struggles and triumphs while building tools to maintain sobriety and improve overall well-being.
- Educational Seminar for Parents of Young Adults: Parenting young adults brings unique challenges (especially during times of transition or conflict). This program offers guidance for parents navigating these stages, as well as the chance to connect with others facing similar situations.
We also host group information sessions on positive psychology topics, which are free and open to anyone in the community. Some of our positive psychology talks include: awe and joy, resilience and stress management, boundary setting, and self-care.
Although many people are initially anxious about attending a group, we have found that once they start to experience the support and community of the group, most people find it’s a transformative experience. The insights you get from your peers, and developing real human connection, is a vital part of the change process in group therapy.
Taking the First Step
